You might think this series moves slowly, but if you stick with it past episode 2 you’ll appreciate the film noir style, the black and white cinematography that lends itself to the complete psychopathic character of Tom Ripley. His brilliance is evident in every scene, where the camera lingers on his face and without saying a word, you know exactly what he’s thinking.
I enjoyed everything about this series, and you shouldn’t compare it to the Jude Law version. Watch it for its own story, which I think more closely resembles the novel than the earlier version.
