I own every Robert B Parker Spenser book. This movie took their names and nothing else; the characters in the movie are nothing like the people in the books. I missed the Spenser For Hire series as a kid, but this movie could have been so smart and witty, and paid homage to Parker’s characters. Why oh why did they bother making this movie?
