I can’t recall a more human, real, visceral or heart felt series. Based loosely around real historic events Ripper follows characters through the twilight of Jack the Rippers legacy. The acting is superb, characters are rich with depth and each new episode brings more contrast and depth to each one. By mid season 1 I was stone cold hooked. The show does not rely on gore or throw money at unnecessary props or gimmicks but rather it tells a story through lavish sets and accurately beautiful wardrobes. The human condition is laid bare and don’t be surprised to find both your heart touched and your interest peaked. Villains become real, heroes made, but everyone’s flaws and faults laid bare for the audience to see. Just saying that the series is binge worthy is an understatement. Trust me, you will not be wasting precious time watching this one.
