I highly doubt enslaved Africans and Indigenous people were as gracious to serve the Spaniards as they were depicted in this program. It wasn't a lighthearted exchange of service for enslavement. A very euro-centric depiction of history imo. I cringe when the beautiful enslaved woman felt "proud" to have given birth to her child just so she can breast feed Simon and his sister as if she was a cow (as they were basically treated as slaves).
I did appreciate a look into colonization in Latin America, even if not completely accurate, as I didn't get to see these images often growing up and being educated in America.
