Power of the Dog is, on the surface, a simple story hinged on superb character development. The complexity arises over the ending and how the audience feels about it. Separating antagonists from sympathetic characters is difficult with such a nuanced script and outstanding acting. I can see why some people scored this movie harshly, but anyone who looks beyond the obvious will find true depth here.
