This movie is excellent. It validates adult children in dealing with the ramifications manifested by their family-of-origins. Unconsciously the abuse lives inside us and wreaks havoc on our lives, until we come to grips and understand the roots. I went back to school at the age of 45 years. I received BSW and MSW degrees. My therapist said I would never be satisfied with my life unless I finished school. She was right. I now work with abused children and adults every day, and see the destruction played out in their lives, due to layers and layers of their broken dysfunctional upbringings. This movie can assist in understanding your pain. I would recommend it to all ACOA's (Adult Children of Alcoholics and other Dysfunctional Families).
