I think this film realistically brought to life the horrors of the slave trade which was rampant in the 18th century throughout the world--having travelled throughout Africa, I discovered first hand some of the struggles the African people had to overcome to gain some semblance of freedom from past colonization and usurpation of their natural resources. God bless Nelson Mandela!
