I would give this 3.5 stars. It's definitely geared toward a younger audience. I don't know what people are talking about when they say it's not "historically accurate". The show tells you within the first couple minutes that this is made up. In real life she was beheaded and this show wanted to play with the idea of what she could have been if she had not been beheaded. As for a black person to play Henry VIII, it is theatre people! It is NOT meant to be historically accurate, just in case you missed that. Men used to play women, women have played men, I don't understand why the colour of someone's skin matters when playing a theatrical role. It's not a documentary! And also, there is "magic" in it giving further proof it's not meant to be accurate.
It's well made, the actors and writing are fun, albeit, I agree, it is raunchy. I don't mind the language but even I thought in some places it was a bit much? I am not offended by it and it didn't really play a role in my ranking of the show though. I had some laughs but it won't be something I go back and watch again. If a season two comes out, I don't know if I'll watch it. It's not bad but I wouldn't say it's amazing either.
