Really enjoyed the series. Have played a lot of RE over the years and it’s nice to see a modernised version with all the historical hallmarks of the story. It’s a great start point setting up the characters for the future series and possibly some classic turning points to match those in series like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad ( best series of all time), Walking Dead etc where the first few series really positioned the main characters identities in order to provide a fabulous base to work from. The subsequent twists and turns can then be created. I can’t list spoilers but there were a few magical moments in the series along with some poor ones but most shows can’t be perfect all of the time especially in the first few series. The Blade nod, the dance sequence, the chainsaw were great scenes. I watched the series over a few days and wanted to see the next episode after the last which in my book shows it had something to grow on. Anyone overthinking this or wanting it to be more horrific is perhaps missing the point of a show that wants to more mainstream and appealing to a bigger demographic of society is great look at Bridgerton. I read one review who said they watched it at 1.5x speed why! that’s just idiotic? Each episode is only 45 mins ( perfect length ) with occasional longer ones for longer plot turns. I hope Netflix carries on and creates another classic as this has the capability to be one.
