The true believers were always persecuted for standing for the truth. This is to expected since Satan is the god of this world and he hates and fights the truth. Jesus Christ is THE TRUTH, so that is to be expected. "Woe to you if the world speaks well of you." And who were the persecutors in most cases?The mainline churches, the denominations, the world church. Christ said that His kingdom is not of this world. "In the world you {true believers} shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.:
