The final four episodes were quite good.

GoT is a fantastic series. However, the ending in season eight would have surprised and disappointed many viewers. The uncharacteristic behavior of Daenerys at the end would more be expected from her father, the mad King, rather than someone who was casted as one who cares about people. Creating these unexpected outcomes, I suppose is normal for writers, pantsers or others.
