I don’t know what to say about this movie other than that the ending was absolutely horrific. Like you are sitting there wondering when something is going to happen and it never does. I’m going to go into spoilers now so quit reading if you don’t want to ruin the movie for you.
First of, how many super powered people exist in 1984 that could have made wishes? You have the entire DC character line to pull characters from and you don’t highlight them at all making wishes? You could have created the best supervillain of all time by zapping all their powers into one being. You could have highlighted them shortly for DC comic fans showing them losing their powers. Second you would have set up a plethora of other movies by just introducing future characters even if it’s just for them to have their powers taken and then restored briefly. The majority of the audience won’t know who they are but they would recognize that there are other super powered people in this universe and them wishing and unknowingly giving their super power away would have made for an amazing showdown. The fight between cheetah was so quick I thought it was a play up.
Highly disappointed for a two and a half hour movie. The plot ends instead of some amazing showdown between an all powerful being and Wonder Woman, is Diana sulking in a corner begging the rest of the world to undo their wishes. The most unrealistic ending of all time. It took Diana herself multiple attempts to give up what she wished for. But after listening to some glowing voice on a screen for two minutes they want to give it back? They easily could have had him transform in front of the world and have WW fight him and have it broadcast all over the world and people renounce their wish to help her. There is nothing in Diana’s own monologue that would push anyone to renounce their wish. Epic failure. Could have been a amazing movie but they went with a joke of an ending. If they had a great ending it could have covered for all the other little mishaps but this is overall a horrible film. They missed the mark big time.
