**Mild Spoilers**
I'd been counting the minutes to the Guardian's finale for months, and left feeling relieved that the nasty itch was finally scratched.
Rocket's backstory is equal parts horrifying & emotional.
The High Evolutionary started as an eloquent, galactic version of Iago, and devolved into a screaming maniac. Either way, you could say he's unsettling.
Drax and Mantis ran with their opportunities to shine, particularly Mantis. She's come a long way from the timid, traumatized assistant her father burdened her to.
The masses seem divided in their feelings about Adam Warlock. I'm squarely in the Loved Him corner, although I would agree with reviews that he was more of an afterthought than a side plot. After awhile he reminded me of the giant chicken from Family Guy. But he was still fun and endearing to where I really look forward to seeing him in future MCU stories. Hopefully his role grows.
I wish more attention had been given to Gamora and Nebula's sister dynamic, but I guess if that had been the case, the movie would still be in the second act.
The stories that needed to end were wrapped up in a heartwarming, satisfying fashion, and remember - this is Marvel, and there's a lot of Multiverse saga left. While the James Gunn, OG Guardians era may be over, something tells me we haven't seen the last of at least a few of them.
