Fat Tuesday

Loved it. Not any more cheesy or ridiculous than other superhero movies. If you are fan of action and a nice little story line and don't need to watch Oscar-worthy movies with very deep messages that make you question everything, then this is a good movie.

FIRST OFF, you need to know this movie is not for children. It has a lot of sexual references and discussions about sex. I am not even sure how it is rated PG-13. With that being said, if you like horror-romance movies or are a fan of black comedies like Heathers and you think that this movie is going to be like that, it's not. It tries to be, but it isn't. It is a little too dark and not satirical enough. A lot of the jokes don't land and just left me, the viewer, and other people in the theater, kind of disturbed and creeped out. There are some redeeming qualities if you are okay watching a weird, sexual movie, about people being murdered and others coming back from the dead. But I do think this is a very niche genre and if not done well, it really misses the mark, which I felt like this did.

At best, I thought this movie would be cute and a little cheesy. But IT WAS BAD, like REALLY BAD! Not the worst movie I have ever seen by a long shot just because the acting was actually good and the visuals were good. Unfortunately it made very little sense and the story was just kind of all over the place. There was no real love story, and the in-between stuff amounted to nothing either. You might like this movie if you are a pre-teen or teenager but for grown adults, this was not worth my time.

Yes, it's whacky. No, it's not gonna get nominated for Oscar's. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and honestly do not understand the hate around it. I really liked it.
