Brahmastra is an iconic movie which shouldn't be missed especially if the decision is based on reviews.
It'll be an injustice to the everyone who worked so hard to bring out such extraordinary experience for us.
Here is my response to all the reviews:
1. VFX - This movie has extremely immersive VFX which will keep you hooked to the screen. Removing 3D glasses even for 5s felt like too much to miss on any action
2. Story - This was funny specifically coming from Indian audience. The story made sense and is relatable to an Indian guy who has been raised listening to Ramayana and Mahabharata.
If we are ready to believe that some Thunder King can travel to earth and can control lightning then I don't understand why is it so tough to believe the existence of someone who can control fire.
3. Dialogues - Get into the shoes of the character and the timezone.
If a 21st century guy suddenly realises that he can control fire and there are paranormal weapons and creatures existing around him, he's expected to refer to them with slangs used in recent times (hence the word Pizza and everything else makes sense).
Let's not assume a regular person to suddenly become a Sanskrit scholar overnight after suddenly discovering paranormal ancient Indian phenomenons.
Maybe the fact that Captain Marvel, Thor, Loki and everyone else, despite coming from different planets spoke nothing but English feels more surprising now.
4. Pace - There wasn't a minute that felt slow both in the first and second half.
I couldn't realise where did this criticism come from.
Especially for the second half, that's where the real story evolves.
5. Songs : Except the first song in the movie, everything else just makes sense.
6. Acting - Be it a newbie or a starkid, hardwork deserves its due credit. Kudos to Ranbir. Alia, Amitabh Bachchan and everyone else for acing in their roles.
End of story - I'm not asking to believe me, simply asking all to give it a shot. It's worth it. Do not cancel your plans for the reviews which doesn't make sense to me at all.
Also there were several people in the theatre who said that the movie is not at all in alignment with the reviews it received.
Use the last few days and you'll already start missing the second part.
