Boring dialogue and unnecessary character additions compared to the book. Slows the pace to a crawl with melodrama. concept is still good though.

The dialogue in The Retirement Plan is so awkwardly bad that it’s impossible not to laugh at how stilted it is. I honestly wonder if this was the first test of AI screenwriting.

The writing is pretty awful, it’s somehow cheesier FB an the original and leans into boring character schmaltz and “awwww” moments.
