I'm so deeply disappointed by this movie. As a teenager and theater kid I absolutely love Mean Girls the movie and the musical. Everytime I watch the movie I feel so moved and felt like becoming a better person. So when the new movie was announced I was ecstatic, but when I finally saw it I was so enraged I wanted to cry. The acting was horrible. I never felt like I was experiencing the story like I usually do watching the original movie. Karen and Gretchen were pretty good, but Katie was awful. I never saw any character development or felt a emotional connection like I usually do. The singing from her wasn't good either. Now I'm not saying she's a bad actor, she just didn't fit the role at all. Reneé Rapp was amazing though. Both her singing and acting totally carried the movie. The music I got more disappointed with every song. I get they had to change it a little bit to keep it interesting but they took amazing catchy songs and somehow made them boring. Stupid With Love is usually upbeat and such a bop, but they made it so slow and annoying I can never see the song the same way. What I can't wrap my head around is that they took out It Roars and replaced with such a dry song! I don't want to make this too long cause I could probably write another 500000 paragraphs about how annoyed I am. But in summary I am so deeply disappointed they messed this up so badly. Also Damian was awesome he was such a vibe.
