The incongruities of this movie made me mad. First off, I will preface by saying I only went to see this movie because my husband wanted to go, and I have not seen the other movies. However, the problems with this movie wouldn’t be resolved by me watching the others. First, the eagle clan put up zero fight. Then, they are trying to shove down my throat that Noa is special without showing me he is. Raka is like, “She’s following you, so you my cat be important. Eagles follow you, so you must be important. I’m going to follow you too.” Like, dude stay safe in your cave instead of going off to your death for some randos. Before he even fixes a taser, he’s clever and special. Why because he put a stick where fish were hanging? Mae never saw his cleverness, so why is she really following him? Then, they tried to make me root for humans so badly. I’m sorry, we have dominance and messed it up. Why would I root for us to destroy ourselves again. I agreed with Proximus, which the writers must have realized because then they want to make him a genocidal maniac like “let’s wipe out all humans.” Then, that bunker smh. Was it originally underwater? How did the gorillas build that dam if they can’t swim? And how did it flood so much? Then, Mae literally gets away, but comes back to apologize to Noa with a gun hidden behind her back, ready to shoot him. Why even come back? Don’t get me started on the Hazmat suit wearing people who came at the end. Pray that my husband doesn’t want to see the inevitable sequel.
