Its insane how negative some of these reviews are. While truly I'd rate it 3.5 or 4 I feel it's necessary here to boost it a little... maybe help even out all the biased reviews upset that it's not sticking to the original source materials.
This miniseries could have been longer by creating better backstories for the 7 warriors. yes, there's some regurgitated material here - as with most fantasy stories. And some of the casting could have been better as well - but as a mini series, it stands on its own - with plenty of fighting, some decent actors, interesting stories and a little more context on how the current Witcher world came to be.
I may not be familiar with the original source material because Ive never read the books (I'm sure if I had, I would also be upset - because the books are ALWAYS better) Even so, I really enjoyed the Witcher and thought this was a decent prequel. I debated watching it because I loved Henry as Geralt but I'm glad I did - because it doesn't take away from it, just adds a little extra - like nightmare of the wolf.
So really, if your looking to watch a little fantasy - may as well give this one a go. It's really not that bad. I watched it back to back and only wished there was more episodes and deeper storylines.
