I began my journey in NMS with very little knowledge of the game, having seen a few videos and was aware it had been out for maybe 8 years or so.
Usually this type of game with base building, deep space exploration and space combat isn't my go to , but after a few weeks and maybe 70 hrs or so play time I am kinda hooked.
There is a great guide that can be referenced from within the game and a tutorial of sorts as you progress.
I jumped straight into the Liquidator Expedition part of the game without a great deal of understanding of the game mechanics or what to really expect. I found it to be real fun and although at times I found myself a bit stuck and a tad overwhelmed I worked through it and really enjoyed the journey.
It's all kinda falling into place and I'm finding my groove more and more each play.
I've still a lot of learning to do I am sure.
It is a chill game and you absolutely can go at whatever pace you want. You can make it your game where you build lots of bases, gather freighters and ships or just explore the almost unlimited star systems and galaxies.
There is a story and after that just carry on exploring to your hearts content.
Can't wait to find that paradise planet many have spoken of to start building my very first base and to build my Freighter and fleet up more also.
The current state of the game from where I heard it was at the release is night and day. It looks absolutely gorgeous and there is such a diverse universe to explore.
Sean Murray and his team at Hello Games has helped me appreciate this type of game and what they have created is incredible and the continuing support for the game over the last eight years puts some other studios to shame.
Very much looking forward to their next title 'Light No Fire' 🕯️no🔥
