The visual effects were awesome and I enjoyed the 1950's setting. But I'm not sure why Tom Hanks decided to do this film. There isn't a cohesive story and it's unclear who the intended audience is. The black and white scenes regarding the process of creating a play detracted from whatever story (and enjoyment) there was. Maybe for true visual arts fans, but not a good film for the average movie-goer.
