Quite fun most of the time, but it can get a bit confusing and dull at times. It doesn’t even hint at what you’re supposed to do next, so if you even miss a small detail then you are stuck running around and backtracking aimlessly until you find that one room, or that one puzzle that you overlooked. The boss fights are completely different from other games, where you can expect to die 5-10+ times. It can get insanely infuriating at times because of this, but it’s extremly rewarding when you do complete the fights. Game and enemy design are fantastic, every boss is extremly unique, in both visual and combative points of view, and the same can be said for the regular enemies. The art style is a good mixture of gloomy and beautiful. There are no shortages of dark and gloomy areas, but that just makes the beautiful and colorful places that much more special. The game is designed so that it’s hard to revive health and you can’t just revive mid battle and you have to go to specific points and it takes a kind of collectible that can be found all across the map. Also, when you die, everything you did is saved but all the enemies (Not bosses) respawn and you restart from a door that is usually pretty far back from where you were, so you have to backtrack for a while. Overall, can be extremely difficult and frustrating at times, but a pretty fun and unique experience most of the time. Definitely not for the light hearted and I can guarantee is drastically different from anything you’ve ever played.
