On the nose preachy dialog ruins what is a visually stunning and cinematic horror movie. It also limits what the actors could have brought more of. Interesting music and a nice nod to the original Philip Glass score at the end and a photo and voice of Virginia Madsen's original character is also very nice not to mention a brief sequence with Tony Todd! The paper cutout puppet sequences are brilliant! Had all the ingredients to be a solid horror movie, it is so beautiful to watch, but it got too tangled in its own social messaging.
