This movie is 2 hours of build up, no pay off whatsoever. Any sense of drama is thin and vague. No trust or distrust between the characters ever has a negative effect so there is no intensity to their decision making. Could’ve been an amazing film but it falls incredibly short. It’s like if someone tried to make a Jordan Peele movie but took all of his talent, and an entire third act out of it. There is a “Chapter” in this movie titled “The Flood”, though they established the house is near water it doesn’t even reach their basement. We actually never see the flood at all, it just rains for one night and that’s it. Awful movie, Kevin Bacon and Ethan Hawke are the only good things in it.
