I was hesitating if I shall fill a Sunday with misery by spending 7hrs listening to this book. The book prior to this was Cormac McCarthy's All the Pretty Horses, a southern border story, the typical Southern Gothic read. I like The Road better. I didn't get a chance to watch the movie, but I could visualize the post-apocalyptic world, I coudl feel the deep love the father towards the son, the son's innocence struggling to survive the brutal reality and the father's internal debate between to live or keep his son's innocence. It's heavy but worth the read
