Please don't ask me why I watched this to the end, as I can't explain it other than to say that, at the time, I couldn't find anything else to watch. The script of this TV show has more holes in it than a 2nd hand dart board. I haven't read the book but I would imaging the author will be crying themselves to sleep. Matilde Seigner (older Clotilde) wanders around, interviewing the residents of Corsica, over and over again, getting nowhere fast, no doubt, in part, explaining her blank expression and lack of consideration for everyone around her, (including her daughter), in her attempts to understand the 'truth' from her past. I won't spoil it for other viewers but, for me, the result is decidedly underwhelming. I suspect that Thierry Godard and Grégory Fitoussi (Spiral), will be suing their agents as these talented actors were very much out of place amongst a very uncredible cast. And please tell me; is every house placed at opposite ends of the island, because the number of times (30% of the total filming) that a car went back and forth on the road was extraordinary!
