With Phil Thornton's knack for creating strange, alien-sounding soundscapes (i.e. his stunning 1987 album, "From Another Sky" -- alien if ever I heard it) as easily as he does "regular" music (i.e. the magnificently beautiful "Between Two Worlds" from 1991), it makes sense, at least to me, that he should tackle the mysterious and perhaps disconcerting subject of extraterrestrial visitations. But as disconcerting as the subject can be, especially given the reports of the 'abductees', this album doesn't reflect the possible experiments those aliens *might* have performed on said individuals; it instead reflects the wonder and mystery of the encounter itself. Here is a visitor from another planet, a proof positive that we aren't alone in the Universe. Here's the music to reflect that.

Beautiful! This album is lyrical even though it's an instrumental, with themes and melodies as gentle as summer rain. By the way, Google has this classified as Rock, but just because Jim McCarty and Loui Cennamo were involved with The Yardbirds way back when, that doesn't automatically make it Rock. It's New Age. More recently, Stairway were signed to the New World label, and have made some sterling albums on that label, like "Moonstone" which this bears some similarity to. Google need to change their classification and acknowledge that artists don't always stick to one genre throughout their careers!
