Wasted Potential!!! 1st star for The entire star cast did a great job in their roles. Ranbir Kapoor was intense, Bobby was terrific, Anil Kapoor was great as usual. Tripti and Rashmika were also able to emote well in their respective roles. 2nd star for the direction and execution where things were kept authentic. The dialogues, Pind episodes, Arjun Vailly song, Background song at Bobby's intro and the scene itself had the authenticity about the respective ethnic backgrounds. -1 star for the dragged story line. The entire story can be condensed into a small paragraph yet it dragged on for 3+ hours and yet it doesn't seem done. Whatever extension to the story was planned could have been told in these 3 hours and it would have been a tighter script with a good pace to the story. Instead we got a drag fest. -1 star for the director's obsession for flawed characters. It is understandable that it is story about a character whom you'd not essentially call a hero nor even a decent human being. Protagonist's characterization stays true to the title. But there surely was an overdose of violence and many unnecesaary scenes without any responsibility. Violence is fine if it accompanies the story, but in Animal it just seems like it's there because there was purely an intention to show it and no story backed reason into it. Ranbir's love for his father is just the justification given by a flawed character such as Ranbir's which doesn't make sense. But may be that's what the whole characterization is about - senselessness and irrationality. -1 for not utilizing Bobby and Tripti well. From the trailer I expected a lot of depth and story behind Bobby characterization and it was completely wasted. Bobby was terrific in the intro episode and his acting skills could have been amazing if he had a lengthier role. Tripti is being noticed by everyone because of the semi nudity and her pretty face but it is unfair and shows how shallow people usually are. She emoted subtle emotions like fear, disappointment and sorrow extremely well especially in the scene where she talks to Ranbir Kapoor. She can surely act! Overall, it could have been a far better movie for the production values, all the actors efforts, the execution of a few episodes only if the story would have been better with more sensible character arcs.

Is this the best indian movie of all time to deserve highest IMDB rating? NO Is this one of the best movies of 2022? Definitely YES Is this a must watch movie? YES Are you guaranteed to watch this multiple times? Maybe Is Rishabh Shetty's performance the best? Easily among Top 5 performances including all languages all movies across India in 2021 and 2022. This is a very good movie until the climax where Rishabh's performance takes it to a whole different level. This is a very impactful, authentic movie and everyone put their heart and soul into this movie and that dedication and commitment is clearly visible. It's excellently executed and very very well made. Rishabh successfully immerses you into the world of Kantara and there in he succeeds. Finally, is this overhyped? Yes. But do not give in to others biases. Go in unbiased and you will love this movie for what it is. It may not be the best movie of all time, but definitely among the very best movies of recent times. Edit: I correct myself. You will watch this movie multiple times. Hatsoff to Rishab Shetty.

I don't think anyone reviewing this movie is doing justice to the great movie this is. Labeling it as a cute rom-com, movie with laughs and gags is an insult to the efforts of everyone involved in this movie and to ourselves as well. The performance of every artist is just brilliant. Nani is at his best and proves that roles like this are his strength. Easily one of his career best performances. Nazariya is lovable, expressive and emotional. Rohini, Naresh, Nadiya, Azhagam Perumal, Harsha vardhan, Anupama Parameshwaram, Shrikanth Iyengar, Rahul Ramakrishna, Nani's Grandma...everyone was perfect in their roles and did a great job. A special mention to the guy who played the character of Joseph. If you felt creepy when he came on-screen and developed hatred for him, it's only because he did such a good job as Joseph. All of this is however the commercial aspect of the movie and if you only saw this in the movie, you will rate it as a feel good entertainer, a cute rom-com and give it 3 or 4 stars. But if you haven't understood the beautiful message around caste, religion, gender bias, marital pressures and a plethora of social issues the movie tries to address, then you need to watch it again. You won't be wasting 3 hours of your time, nor will you call it a slow and long movie if you understand what's at its core. Hope people learn.

Truly Epic! Ram Charan and NTR Jr both delivered terrific performances. They are perfectly well suited for their characters with Ram Charan showing emotional maturity in his characterization as Rama Raju and NTR Jr showing the power of pure and raw emotions as Bheem. Kudos to both of them. And then there is Rajamouli and the story itself. As they have been saying in the interviews that SSR is crazy and is mad about little details, only a mad man can create a master piece like this. To hit and exceed expectations which built up over 3 years is just a testament to the brilliance of SSR. BGM, Ajay Devgan, Alia Bhatt, Sriya, Rahul Ramakrishna, Samuthirakani and every other artist, even the child artist and her mother have performed to perfection in every frame. Whatever we say about Ram Charan and NTR Jr is not enough. Their chemistry on screen and their performances and their characterizations are just deep and on a different level. I am a fan of every artist who delivers a terrific performance and they both have delivered something really special. This will be remembered forever.
