Ratched is similar to AHS is style and substance and Sarah Paulson hits it out of the park, as usual. Supporting cast is superb. Absolutely loved it and am excited for season 2. Negative reviews suggest unreasonable plot lines. Unreasonable as compared to what, exactly? White Walkers? S&M ghosts? It's a well crafted work of fiction that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and as with all things Ryan Murphy adjacent gives the characters depth of emotion that makes the whole thing worth while. Highly recommend.
