It’s a terrible misrepresentation, and in all honesty misleading.
How many people when watching the show for the first time are going to think that their esa will have the same rights as a service Dog?
Or the fact that the dog can sit on chairs and steal food off of people’s plates. Pee on random people/objects, wander around unsupervised, etc.
The kid has a legitimate need for a service dog, and they give him an esa: with all the rights of an actual SD...
That’s not okay.
The way they portray the struggles, disabilities, and disorders is a joke... It feels totally unrealistic... They could’ve had an amazing heartstring puller showing the struggles of owning a service dog. And have comedic relief of when an SD has goofy moments.
But instead they didn’t do their research (aka a 5second google search) and they did this...
