A nice throwaway RomCom made more Poignant with today's dire news about Anne Heche. There are lots of inaccuracies that an aviator might quibble with, like a plane going down because of a lightning strike. Planes take lightning in stride. They aren't certified without passing lightning tests. And when Ford is working on his plane, it looks all rusty. Problem is, the metal with the rust is aluminum, which does not rust no matter how decrepit. It can corrode, but it turns caulky. They put fake rust to make it look rickety. Still enjoyable, if not great cinema. Two good actors make it work.
