Realistic and believable portrayal of veteran PTSD. Heavy to watch but worth it.

My mother started me watching this show. It is addictive but the drama and artistry peter out with each season. I love the first two seasons but the plot line gets weaker and weaker after that, shifting to characters that are not compelling. I didn't like the Demelza character in general, the actress seems too affected. Jack Farthing as George was my favorite actor.

Excellent cast, but the plot is so flimsy that the acting becomes unconvincing and affected. If a mother abandoning her young daughters to pursue her career is supposed to be feminism, then it is a century old. The characters are made to appear complicated but there is little substance to support complexity. Some acts of rudeness and violence are unwarranted by the plot.

This is a remake of an Italian movie which I preferred in terms of acting but the story line is engaging in itself.

I enjoyed the film but it is very predictable and the whole premise is totally unconvincing. No on would commit suicide under such circumstances, and even if Harlan sincerely wanted to save Marta from being prosecuted, he would have known that the toxicology report would reveal drug overdose, regardless of the suicide. The acting kind of worked, but the plot was too strained.

Clever, witty, and utterly enjoyable. The acting is superb. The plot could become predictable but it doesn't detract from enjoying how the characters build it up. Even if you don't know much about French cinema you would be compelled to discover it.
