I didn't like it. I found it to be misleading & places all police officers in a negative light. There was two major key points; the cop was white & the kid was black. There were four minor key points; He wore baggy pants, his duffle bag was open, he was reaching inside it looking for his cellphone & a white lady fell over him but those minor key points were overshadowed by the major key points. Cashier yells shoplifter & that cop arests the boy on what he believed to be a kid shoplifting. Did he arrest that boy bec of the color of his skin, the way he wore his pants or bec of the open duffle bag with his hand in it? Had it been a white boy, would he still have been beaten & arrested? This story should make people question the key detailed. Was the police officer racist, did he have a bad day or was he just a jerk cop who overstepped his authority? The fact that all the cops were covering it up for him doesn't happen that often. A book that should be making them think about they key details instead people jump to the conclusion that this book is about police brutality & racism bec think about it, if it was about racism, why was it so important to mention the way he wore his pants & the fact that his duffle bag was open?
