Found it boring. Took too long to get the action and the plot was a bit confusing at times. Was interesting in places but as way too long, could have easily been told in two to three hundred pages. Kept jumping from past to present and a lot was over explained. Won't be reading again.

Hauntingly beautiful. The backdrop of the demimonde shines through in a book deemed at publication too depressing because it highlighted a world in which everyone knew existed but dare speak about: the life of a woman on the edge. An all time favourite of mine.
