This movie is not even close to the books and takes aspects from book 2 and 1 while adding things that were not in any book. Artemis doesn’t go to school or have meetings with the psychologist until book two. Artemis’ dad started missing and didn’t know about the fairies. Butler wasn’t the dads body guard, the dad was captured by the Russians in book two, Artemis’ mom is crazy. The time freezes were messed up, commander root is a guy and holly is supposed to be the only female officer that is a captain and the best pilot. They didn’t have the aculous in the book and he took the fairies for gold. cudgels isn’t evil till he gets demoted for releasing a troll and opal koboi is the side kick that is the head of the tech company that upgraded L E Ps guns. They use goblins as their army. Digging starts in jail and is as short as a dwarf. Holly doesn’t want to set his dad free but to get her powers back at the tree. Butler isn’t as much of a bodyguard in the movie and Artemis fowl is physically incompetent in the book. In short, the movie was terrible and would give it negative stars if I could. Worse then the Percy Jackson books to movies. Acting was bad and terrible character development, too short and shouldn’t try to put multiple books into a single movie. Didn’t even have the part with the book and first drunk fairy. They should definitely remake it like the Percy Jackson series is doing.
