I really enjoyed this moving, engaging, entertaining, charming, humorous, highly nuanced movie. The cast were fantastic, each character with a story to tell.
Irony played a big part. Personal perceptions will dictate what the viewer takes from their experience.
Joy was taken from the depiction of Irish life in the 60’s, family values, local neighbourhoods, dialects, working class humour. Controversial topics were cleverly woven into a brilliant script set against the spectacularly serene scenery of France & 60’s Dublin.
We laughed, cried, felt deeply and throughly enjoyed every part of it. Especially as I was watching with my precious mother who had personally experienced Lourdes as a child.
Simply brilliant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
