I don't know about it being the best show ever, but I believe it is the best iteration of the Superman genre. I especially enjoyed the back history between Lex and Clark and watching the fine line between the choices Lex makes that turns him from good intentions to the dark side. I really liked the little inside jokes referencing Clark's future role as Superman. And also enjoy watching when Clark's dad tells him he's from outer space.
