bsolutely sensational movie. I honestly didn’t want it to end. Even though the run time is way over 2.5 hours you’re so invested in Laal Singh Chadha’s world that time (atleast for me) seemed to move way too quickly to absorb everything.
It’ll make you think, love, laugh and even shed a tear or two.
All the performances are top notch and in sync with the original characters in Forrest Gump without this being a blatant copy of the original. Laal Singh holds its own through and through.
Ofcourse historic events had to be Indian for this adaptation so it was nice to see SRK as Gump’s Elvis even though the de-aging makes you look twice to make sure it isn’t some FAN.
Aamir is devoted to his character throughout and even though at times his mannerisms may annoy you his sincere eyes and dedication to his role make him stand on his own in comparison to Forrest.
Kareena as Rupa is even better than Robin Wright as Jenny and probably my favourite character throughout. She looks great and truly is one of the finest actors we’ve ever had.
Manav Vij & Naga Chaitanya are memorable even though they have limited screen time.
Mona Singh is a natural and flawlessly portrays the mother of a dim-witted Lal. Always encouraging and rooting for her son.
Special mention to the child actors who play both Laal & Rupa.
All over a fabulous movie that is absolutely unmissable in my opinion.
