Looking for a feel good film on Netflix, whilst ensuring to avoid anything made in America, came up with this and loved it. It's a slow burner that just gets better as it goes on so be patient. I expect many of the negative reviewers never watched it through but if you want to escape into an alternative world, and Scotland fits that bill in many respects, then watch and enjoy.

Excellent British film. Well acted and atmospheric. But beware this is not a feel good movie . It is a hard watch, not to be watched late at night if you have trouble with sleeping. But as a film, and a pretty accurate one at that, it is five star.
