Like watching c-span via TikTok for 3 hours. I very much like Nolan’s movies and was looking forward to this one. He can make science and sci-fi relatable and human. His stories are unique and interesting and his directing and technical attention to detail are amazing. Oppenheimer seemed like the perfect character for Nolan to bring to the screen. At the very least, the science and events surrounding the creation of the bomb would be captured in a way that only Nolan can. But both fronts fell short. Oppenheimer was developed with the depth of snl’s Chad and the science and scientists took a back seat to some tangled mess of dialogue and timelines.
