With the new popular movie out on Netflix "The Deliverance", based on the story of this house and the family who lived there, I expect many people will be interested in the actual background and will be watching this documentary. And it isn't an easy watch. Zak Baggens did an admirable job putting this film together. Even skeptics will find this hard to deny after watching all the people who were witnesses and/or affected. Watch "The Deliverance" first, if only for the phenomenal performance of Glenn Close (but other actors were great as well), then sit back and hear Zak's story.

I don't know why this film got such bad reviews. While Hopper Jack Penn needs a bit more polish, he was more than adequate in his role, and then you have two seasoned actors, Billy Bob Thornton, Robin Wright -- who did their best with what they were given, and both are always great to watch. The story was nothing new, but the ending was, to me, quite apocalyptic. Not what I was expecting. So do yourself a favor and don't mind the reviews. This is a film worth watching.

I've seen countless movies about the Holocaust and certainly encourage younger generations to do so. As much as it pains me, I have to say that this series, even though it represents as a "true story" has to be one of the very worst I have ever suffered through. It may very well be a "true story" but it's so contrived as to be impossible to believe. Poorly acted, maudlin script, at times very difficult to hear (without subtitles). I absolutely cannot recommend to anyone. I have one star because there isn't a place for a half star.
