Enchanting Flower

Its beautifully written but i found it perplexing, because it left many questions unattended at the end. At a level it seems written after great in depth study of humans, still there could be something more to it.

Its a very complex text. The reader has to be on the toes for every next move in the story. There are symbols as deep as the culture of Algeria is deep-rooted in the memory of the writer. Story is about the loss and yearning for lost love, for the young beloved who is synonymous for the lost land that is freed and yet lost to the self exiled narrator. Overall a very engrossing story but tiresome also because of the narrator's wailing and yearning and desire for a woman 25 years younger to him.
