Teneile Harris

This film had been on my radar since its release. I finally had time to sit down and take it all in. This film is thought provoking. I will say that. I certainly get the point the film was trying to make but at times I felt the story telling missed the mark. Pieces of the film were being put together but it didn't flow very well. Like another review said, it could be compared to 1st season of True detective but certainly not told as well, which is harder in a 2 hour movie opposed to a series. The acting was incredible especially Tom Holland and Bill Skarsgard who although only in the film a short time was mesmerising.

I fell head first into the story telling of Pachiko but like many other reviews I was disappointed with the second half of the book. It wasn't bad but there was so much depth to the first half, I just wish that had continued on. So many major events took place in one sentence or characters I thought were important to the story seemed to become just back ground characters. Still very much worth reading.
