I went into this documentary as just another one. For me, transformative. I was in awe of their talented intellect. They take you into their genius of editing and writing. I’ll never look at another book the same! A must see for readers.

I’m disappointed. I’m having a difficult time figuring out who is narrating the different sections. I’m not understanding how the chapters and sections are divided.
I don’t speak Spanish so I do have a dictionary to help me get the gist of some of the dialog.
In searching for a reading guide or reviews, I’m faced to write my own. Junot Diaz is a talented writer and I can appreciate his art, but…..

Growing up on the fantasy of the love brought to you in musicals, I find this very entertaining and very clever. Reminiscent of those musicals, the lyrics and dancing are perfect! Very enjoyable!

The actors are very talented dancers and worth watching for that reason alone. The character development was a little weak and the dialog sometimes awkward.

While it has great acting, the action is gut wrenching and sad. I didn’t realize it was based in reality. It does provide another example of an inequitable justice system. Had Cherry been black, he would have been incarcerated for life and denied parole.
The ending was unsatisfying and fed the myth of a happy ending.

Clever plot, interesting characters. A live story with some comedic instances with suspense and intrigue. I found it charming and fun to watch.
Even missing some of the subtitles, it was enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed but had to concentrate on the characters to differentiate them. Strong plot with twist. I really enjoyed this! Thought provoking too.
