I always look for an interesting story along with good acting, and this movie certainly fits the bill. David Strathairn and Mary McDonnell did a great job of acting and were believable characters. This mystery kept me interested and questioning throughout, and the ending was a well-kept secret and indeed a mystery---I liked it.

This is an excellent film, as is everything Ralph Fiennes does. However, I noticed that the film, which is set in 1930s Shanghai, has cars - including the one Mr. Fiennes rides in - which are made in the 1940s (an obvious mistake that car aficionados like myself will quickly notice). Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the acting. It is a very interesting movie.

A truly magnificent work of historical fiction. The cinematography and wardrobe are among the very best. I really love this epic adventure. The acting is superb and exciting - a real joy to watch!
