Being a fan of Horror, The Occult, and Neill Blomkamp this was a no-brainer.
I absolutely loved the concepts introduced in this film and its attempt to break new ground plot wise. It payed homage to underrated horror films like The Cell and series aesthetically/tonaly like Silent Hill.
With that said, I wish this had been made as a mini-series/or TV show instead because so much of what made it fresh and unique was under-utilized.
Great cinematography, concept and performance by lead actress, good cgi, decent yet uneven performances by the supporting actors. The script was the biggest detractor by far but it was still very good. For a high-concept horror flick though it did have some predictable horror-tropes.
Demonic is a really good, creepy horror/psychological/sci-fi creation, it just could have been So Much More.
This is the movie I WANT to be on my list of all time favorite modern horror films, up there with Sinister and The Babadook but it still hold its own and more often than not delivers on what it sets out to. I myself am thrilled that I got to see it.
