Just coming out of the movie it was an entertaining nonetheless. You can tell by watching this film that Queen wanted to keep their image clean and have the central focus about them. Spoilers.... the movie ended with a 10 min or longer re-enactment of the 1985 live aid concert, if I wanted to watch the concert I’ll go online and watch the full concert, this ending seemed like a cop out and although Malek was captivating so was the rest of Queen it felt underwhelming to end on this moment. Malek was truly amazing in this, from playing a quiet anarchist in Mr. Robot he shines as Mercury bringing such a captivating performance. In conclusion, this movie should have been R-rated and in more detail about Mercury, with Malek’s killer performance this could’ve been one of—possibly the best—biopics ever if a darker yet truer tone was taken.
