While pulling from countless cliches, the characters were interesting, the actors playing them were excellent, but the story flatlines 10% into the film to the point where it's unclear if we're watching the dual struggles of an alcoholic assassin, the return of a family's black sheep, or the more sinister and complex rise of a conspiracy within her organization. Ultimately, each of those storylines barely scratches together a second act where the plot seems more unhinged than Ava herself. Still a good Friday night action movie if you have not much else going on!
