Elden Ring is a seriously impressive game that will probably go down as my #1 rpg of all time. The only other one that's close for me is FF7 which I played in 8th grade, lots of nostalgia for that game - I'm 38 now. The only other open world game that's comparable for me is Skyrim and Elden Ring is in a whole different league - way better. The graphics and story line are excellent but the game play is what sets it apart. Every style of weapon plays differently and the complexity of the melee mechanics make it challenging and unbelievably fun to play. Then add in magic, incantations, ashes of war, summons, horse back play, platforming, co-op, and probably others pieces I'm forgetting... Incredible, I can't say enough good. I'm about 40 hours in, its tough but rewarding and worth every minute.
