Horrendous! How could Bruce be involved in something so bad. I guess his salary meant they couldn't afford a script, plot, or dialogue. So embarrassing. I wrote this review before news came out about Bruce's condition. It is heartbreaking to think of such an amazing life decline like this. I will always remember him as someone who spread joy, fun, and adventure.

I am a fan of Matt Daman's version as you could identify with the characters. In this series I can not identify with, nor believe the characters. I find nothing likable about the new Tom Ripley. He is repulsive on multiple levels, and only finds favour with Dickie, as Dickie is so gullible. There is nothing likable about either. In the original Dickie (Jude Law) is living the life that I want to be a part of. He has great friends, he is clever, witty, well spoken, and you can see the chemistry between him and Tom (Matt), which is necessary for the con to work, so when it does, we are feeling betrayed as well. This new Dickie is none of those, and not someone that I wish to spend any further time with. I only watched 3 or four of the episodes, but that is enough.
